Ithaca, N.Y. - The women's track & field team competed at the Big Red Invitational at Cornell this weekend. The meet featured schools from all three NCAA Divisions as well as junior colleges. Freshman Marcia McCord (Rancocas Valley/Mount Holly, N.J.) broke the school-record in the 200-meter dash and provisionally qualified for the NCAA Championships with a time of 24.92. She placed second in the event, finishing only behind a runner from Division I Binghamton.
Senior Leigh Klumpp (Windsor/Windsor) and freshman Laura Morehouse (Shenendehowa/Clifton Park) tied for fifth in the 200-meter dash, each qualifying for ECACs with a time of 26.18. Morehouse was also seventh in the 100-meter dash with an ECAC-qualifying time of 12.73.
Sophomore Alison Siderko (Manasquan/Brielle, N.J.) also qualified for the ECAC Championships, placing fifth in the high jump by clearing 1.61 meters (5-3 1/4).
The Bombers compete at the NYSCTC Championships at Rochester this weekend.
